The new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha says he wants to liaise with the Senate to ensure that the controversies surrounding the extension of Senator Ndoma Egba’s tenure as the chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is resolved.

Naija News gathered that Senator Ahmed Lawan, disclosed this on Tuesday at the plenary, saying he had discussed with the SGF over the issue.

“He pleaded that he should be allowed to liaise with the parties concerned and in my view I want to plead that we should step down discussion, so that it will not look as if we are unnecessarily confronting the executive,” he said.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki through a vote cast directed the matter be stepped down to enable the SGF intervene the matter.

“Distinguished colleagues, let’s allow the SGF intervene since he is willing to do so, so that it would not look as if in everything, we are opposing the government,” Saraki said.
