Tinubu Is Capable, Peter Obi Not Destined For Presidency In 2023 – Ohanaeze Ndigbo

-Ohanaeze Ndigbo accuses President Buhari of marginalizing the south east region in his administration.

-They also called on the president to consider the socio-economic impact of the region on the nation’s economy.

South Eastern region demands greater participation and involvement in Buhari’s administration.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, an Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has flayed the decision by President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, instead of appointing a South- easterner.

In a statement obtained by Naija News, The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nwodo, expressed displeasure with the decision of the president not to appoint an Igbo to the position which he claimed had been zoned to the region by the All Progressives Party, (APC) .

The president’s action “has further denied the people of the region a strong place in the executive arm of the administration.” he said.

“It also shows the President’s insensitivity to the over flogged issue of marginalisation of Ndigbo by his administration.

“We had thought that the recent meeting of South-east leaders with the President at the Aso Rock Villa opened an avenue for a new relationship with the zone which appointing an SGF from the area would have helped to cement especially as the ruling party originally zoned the position to the region,” the group said.

The Ohanaeze urged the president “to open his mind and have a positive attitude about Ndigbo whose contributions to the socio economic and political development of the country is not in doubt.”

Recall President Buhari had on Monday replaced the sacked Babachir Lawal with Boss Mustapha as the new SGF.

Lawal was sacked from his position after he was indicted by an investigative panel led by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, based on allegations of corruptions against him.
