-Residents have been taught how to properly use the treated nets.

Following the launch of the distribution exercise of insecticide treated mosquito nets last Friday in Akure, by Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the delivery has begun across the 18 local government council areas of the state.

Residents in the state came out en masse at the various distribution points in all the local government areas of the state.

The sharing of the treated nets was kick started by the council Chairman, Mr. Segun Oluyede, in Akure North Local Government Area, at the Basic Health Centre, Ayede Ogbese.

Oluyede enjoined the residents who benefited from the initiative to make good use of the nets to eradicate malaria from the state.

He cautioned against the use of the insecticide treated nets to process Garri and aginst the sale of the nets. He added that the nets had been proven as a cost effective means of fighting malaria.

Noting that residents had been adequately oriented on the proper usage of the nets, the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Supervisor in the area, Mrs. Bukola Oyetomi, added that health officials would go round houses in the area to make certain beneficiaries comply with the directions given.
