No body can force Buhari to do anything – Femi Adesina

-President Buhari was not forced into sacking Babachir Lawal and Ayo Oke, claims Femi Adesina.

-He also revealed Buhari’s decision was delayed as he took time to review the full report from the committee.

Those who truly know President Buhari are aware he can not be forced into doing anything.

The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, has made a submission that nobody can pressure the president into doing anything.

The presidential aide said this while reacting to suggestions that Buhari was forced to sack former secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal.

The former SGF was initially suspended after he was indicted of corruption by the senate committee on the humanitarian crisis in the north-east, and was subsequently sacked on Monday after Buhari considered the report of the committee set up to investigate allegations against him which was headed by Vice President Yemi Osinabjo.

“Anybody who knows this president will know that he’s a man that takes his time but when he makes up his mind, he makes it up real good,” he said during a Channels TV programme.

“Who can pressure the president? There’s nobody that can pressure him.”

“He got that report on August 23, it came in six volumes – yes, there was an executive summary but apart from that executive summary, with a fine-tooth comb, he went through the main report and today (Monday) we have got his conclusions about the report and the recommendations.

“It shows that the ‘mill of the gods’, like they say, may grind slowly but they grind finely”.

He added that Buhari’s action on the matter once again conforms him to be someone given to details and who won’t rush into taking rash decisions.
