Senators donate 1,260 bags of rice to Kogi workers

Some Nigerian senators have donated 1,260 bags of rice to civil servants in Kogi state who have not received their salaries for some months.

Therefore, in an effort to aid Kogi workers from their current predicament, some lawmakers decided to  make the donations.

This development was disclosed to newsmen on Wednesday by the senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye.

It would be recalled that a 54-year-old Director, Edward Soje, in the State Teaching Service commission, allegedly committed suicide on Friday evening by hanging himself on a tree in Lokoja, the state capital after few hours after the delivery of triplets by his wife over non-payment of salary.
