The report on the recall and reinstatement of the former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been submitted to the head of civil service of the federation, as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The receipt of the report was confirmed Monday night by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

“I have confirmation that the head of service of the federation, Mrs. Oyo-Ita, has brought the report on the re-engagement of Abdulrasheed Maina as directed by the president.

“This is being studied as other reports are being awaited,” he said.

Earlier in the day, President Buhari had demanded a full report before the close of work on Monday, from the head of the civil service on the circumstances surrounding Maina’s reinstatement.

Recall Abdulrasheed Maina, was dismissed from the civil service in 2013 for absconding and declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), after been accused of perpetrating fraud running into several billions of naira but was secretly reabsorbed and promoted in September 2017.

Meanwhile, Naija News has obtained documents allegedly used by the Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami, facilitated Maina’s reinstatement.

 

The letter, dated September 18 and signed by Mustapha L. Sulaiman for the FCSC chairman, revealed Maina was reinstated by the federal civil service commission based on Malami’s advise.
