Premier league: Everton sack coach Ronald Koeman

-Everton sack Ronald Koeman after consistent poor run of games in the 2017/2018 season.

-The team currently seat 18th on the league table and deep in the relegation zone.

English Premier league side, Everton, have parted ways with their  Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman following a disastrous start to the 2017/2018 season which sees them occupy the 18th position and in relegation zone after 9 games.

The team have only won 2 games this season, drawing 2 and loosing the other 5.

Everton’s latest loss was Sunday’s 5-2 thrashing at home in the hands of Arsenal. A result that effectively put an end to Koeman’s reign at Everton.

An official statement released by the club, shows they have parted company with the 54 year old Koeman after 16 months in charge.

“Everton football club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the club,” read a club statement released on Monday”.

“Chairman Bill Kenwright, the board of directors and major shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months and for guiding the club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign.”

Koeman  reportedly spent a whopping £142 million on new players during the transfer window, but the players’ arrival failed to have expected results on the field for Everton.

The 54-year-old Ronald Koeman, becomes the third English premier league manager to be shown the exit door this season, following Frank de Boer’s departure from Crystal Palace and Craig Shakespeare’s sack at Leicester City.

Everton face Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
