-Aggrieved militants vow to resume militant activities if government fail to resume payment of their monthly stipends.

-They blamed government officials in charge of the amnesty programme of diversion of funds.

Some aggrieved ex-militants under the Phase II of the federal government’s amnesty programme, on Monday threatened to return to the cricks and resume violence over government’s failure to pay their monthly allowances .

According to them, they have been enduring the situation since 2012 but are tired of lies and bearucratic botlenecks hampering the payment of their monthly stipends.

Carrying various placards with various inscriptions, the militants staged a peaceful protest to the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) where they made their grievances known.

“Our accounts have remained dormant since 2012. They blocked our accounts with UBA and Fidelity in Warri. We were made to understand that the problem iis from the Amnesty Office,” they claimed.

The presidential adviser on amnesty programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh and some Staff in the Amnesty Office were accused by the militants of allegedly diverting monies budgeted for them.

They also accused some of their leaders of improper representation, only fighting for their selfish interests.

Led by Robert Okosogha, the group, made up of seven camps, said, “Our account should be reactivated. The money should be paid into the accounts. Correction should be made on account number that was changed from UBA to Sterling and Fidelity Bank.

“Failure to do so, we will go back to the creeks and continue with our militant activities.”
