Boko Haram: 16 killed, 18 injured in Borno

No fewer than 16 persons have been confirmed dead while 18 injured during suicide attacks which occurred in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Sunday night by insurgents.

Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Damian Chukwu, who confirmed the incident to DailyPost, said that those injured have been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where they were currently receiving medical attention.

Two die in Army, youths clash in Plateau

A clash between soldiers and some youths in Sopp Village, in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, has been said to have reuslted in two deaths.

The youths were agitating againstthe alleged poisoning of a 32-year-old well, during an air raid by members of the military Special Task Force, code-named Operation Safe Haven, Punch reported.

Court awards N2m against police over arrest of Evans the kidnapper’s in-law

The Lagos division of the Federal High Court, on Monday awarded a N2 million judgment against the Nigeria Police Force in the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by one Mr. Okwuchukwu Obiechina said to be the brother-in-law of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans.

NLC begs Kogi workers to stop committing suicide

The Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Mr Onu Edoka, on Sunday in Lokoja appealed to the state workers not to go to an extreme of committing suicide over their current plight of non-payment of salary by the state government, advising that the storm would soon be over.

Body of man who jumped into Lagos Lagoon discovered

The body of a man, identified as Oluseye Adekunle, who jumped into Lagos Lagoon around Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge on Friday has been found.

Naija News gathered that the body was discovered by a fisherman on Sunday morning at about 5.00 a.m. floating by the river bank, around the bridge.
