NEMA workers call off strike, resume duties nationwide

Workers of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have ended their warning strike occasioned by the face off between the agency’s staff and its management after a meeting with the federal government delegation.

Workers of the agency had downed tools over what they described as the insensitivity of the management to the plight and working conditions of the staff.

Buhari’s govt tells lies at professional level – Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described the President Buhari-led administration as propaganda and a government full of lies.

Naija News gathered that Jonathan made this claim in Abuja on Thursday when he received one of the national chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party,Prof. Tunde Adeniran, and members of his campaign team in his office. The party will hold its national convention in Abuja on December 9 to elect its national officers.

Police rescue kidnapped DPO, four others rescued

A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Aliyu Amos, who was kidnapped in Niger State this week has been rescued. Naija News gathered that Amos, who is a superintendent of police and DPO of Sarki Pawa Divisional Headquarters in Niger State, was rescued by police special forces at about 6:00 p.m. on Thursday night.

One of Nigeria’s cable TV service providers, StarTimes Nigeria, has announced the pay per day, pay per week and pay per month subscription options for its subscribers across Nigeria.

The offer, allows customers to watch their favorite channels for as low as N60 per day, N300 per week or a normal monthly subscription.

Cleric shot dead in church’s mission house

A Christ Apostolic Church pastor, Oluwarotimi Akinroyeje, has been shot dead by an unknown gunman at the church’s mission house in the Ago Gbooro area of Ore, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Naija News gathered that an eyewitness, anonymously, said a masked gunman entered the mission house at about 1am on Thursday and went straight to where the pastor was, and shot him at close range with a locally-made gun.

Anambra Election: IPOB says Igbos should not go out on election day

In an effort to sabotage the upcoming Anambra governorship election, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has advised the people of Anambra State not to go out between 6pm November 17 to 6pm om November 18.

The IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, who said this in a statement alleged that the Federal Government was planning to unleash attacks on them and wreck havoc during the scheduled November 18 Anambra gubernatorial election.
