ABUA Convocation: University to give 2000 people free medical services

Management of the Afe-Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, has announced that it will offer free medical services to 2,000 people as part of the activities marking the fifth convocation ceremony of the institution.

Announcing the freebie at a press conference in Ado Ekiti, ABUA Vice Chancellor, Prof Michael Ajisafe said the treatment was part of the school’s corporate social responsibilities to the society.

He said the free treatment would cover various illnesses,  adding that patients would be treated by experts from Asia, Europe and Nigeria.

According to Ajisafe, “The experts will treat any patient free-of-charge and they will perform surgery, if it is required on any patient, and this is on the bill of ABUAD. It is going to be on first come, first served basis,” he said.

The university will on Saturday confer 869 students with the Bachelor degrees in different disciplines on Saturday, with 83 bagging first class.

Ajisafe attributed the high number of first class graduates to be awarded by the institution, to the quality of education which it provides, alongside constant electricity and full-residential policy for all students.

He added that the school would launch a 400-bed teaching hospital built by its founder, Chief Afe Babalola, to offer quality healthcare services to Nigerians.
