UNILAG denies rusticating lady dancing with former VC’s statue

-UNILAG authorities refutes claims the University authorities have rusticated a student caught dancing with a statue.

-The school authorities however cautioned all its students to be well behaved.

The authorities in the University of Lagos have denied the rumour that it has rusticated a final year student of the institution for four semesters for allegedly dancing with the statue of a former vice-chancellor of the University..

A viral video, showed the undergraduate, whose name was not disclosed but rumored to be a 400 level student of the Faculty of Arts, dancing with a statue of former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adetokunbo Sofoluwe.

But, in a reaction posted on the institution’s Facebook page on Monday, the university authority urged members of the general public to disregard it.

It said, “The management of the University of Lagos wishes to inform all students and the general public that the current information making waves on the social media, concerning a student who was allegedly rusticated for four semesters for dancing with the statue of the late Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. B. Sofoluwe, is false and should be disregarded.

“The university management, however, encourages students to be of good conduct at all times.”
