Akeredolu denies involvement in the suspension of 190 Judicial officers

-Ondo Govt only introduced an initiative to reform the judicial system – Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has distanced himself from allegations that he had a hand in the recent suspension of some magistrates in the state.

He denied the accusation during the 2017 Chief Judge’s Seminar, themed; ‘Dispensation of substantial justice in the eyes of the law’, held at the International Events Centre, DOME in Akure.

Ondo state judiciary dismissed about 190 Magistrates and Senior Registrars on the grounds of irregular appointments.

However, governor Akeredolu, represented by his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, on Wednesday, explained that, “the development was introduced by the State Judiciary Commission (NJC), as part of the ongoing efforts of cleaning the judiciary system.”

“The ongoing reform in the judiciary will give way for speedy judiciary dispensation in the country”.

He, therefore called on stakeholders in the judiciary to uphold fairness, equity and justice, as they perform their constitutional duties, adding that everyone must work tirelessly to ensure fairness and justice for the groeth of the nation and in the interest of Nigerians.

He explained further that the seminar will assist in positively transforming the judiciary and the society as a whole.
