-Oyo state government warns conttractors against shoddy jobs.

-The government also promised to complete all on-going projects before Governor Ajimobi’s tenure expires.

The Oyo State government has threatened to blacklist any contractor who does not meet up with the quality requirement of projects it executes or fails to deliver such project at the right time.

The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr. Wasiu Dauda issued the warning during the inspection of ongoing road projects within Ibadan metropolis.

The commissioner had in his entourage, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Oyesola Oyedele.

He charged all contractors handling various projects across the state to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated contract period and in line with the contract’s specification.

Part of construction works inspected by the Commissioner and his team include: Challenge-Efunsetan to Orita Challenge Phase II, Ibadan (Eleyele) Eruwa road, Idi -Ape Bashorun Odogbo Baracks, Oke-Adu- Agodi-Gate Iwo road interchange and Agodi- gate-old Ice road to Alakia Airport road.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on the road projects so far.

Some of the contractors were also commended for complementing the efforts of the state government towards infrastructural development.

The contractor handling the Challenge- Efunsetan Phase II road was however directed to present his schedule of work done on the site before accessing more funds.

The Commissioner similarly expressed displeasure with the pace of work done on site at Idi Ape – Bashorun road, charging the contractor to intensify efforts on the level of work and be committed to completing the project during the stipulated time.

He further assured the people of the state that all on going projects will be completed before the expiration of the Governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration’s tenure.
