Man dies during Fulani traditional display

Tragedy struck at Dutsen Bori village in the Kafur Local Government of Katsina State after a man, Yau Musa, died during the fulani traditional display involving for young herdsmen.

The police has consequently arrested a 19-year-old man, Ahmed Saidu, according to Punch report, and arraigned him before a Katsina State Senior Magistrates’ Court for alleged murder.

Naija News gathered that Saidu resided at Garu Village in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state. He was one of the Fulani youths who were participating in the display before the incident happened.

It was learnt that Saidu, Musa, Salisu Inusa and one Nayib were engaged in the traditional display.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, said Saidu allegedly hit Musa on the head during the Fulani traditional display.

He said Musa allegedly sustained injury on the head and was taken to the Kafur Primary Health Care where he later gave up the ghost.

The presiding senior magistrate, Abdul Umar, told the accused that the outcome of legal advice on the case from the state Ministry of Justice would determine if he would face trial at a high court or not.

The magistrate therefore, ordered the remand of Saidu prison custody and adjourned the case til October 12, 2017, for further hearing.
