Boko Haram planned to launch attack in Ondo – Suspect confesses

One member of Boko Haram sect, Mohammed Bashir, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command.

Bashir, who was arrested in Isua Akoko, the headquarters of the Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, disclosed that members of the notorious sect were planning to launch an attack on the state.

TStv denies alleged piracy of content

Just about three days after its official launch, new satellite TV provider, TSTV has allegedly been accused of illegally airing some of the contents on its menu.

A TV content provider, beIN had purportedly, sent a letter to the Nigeria Copyrights Commission, titled “Illegal Pirating of beIN Content”, in which it alleged that TSTV planned to offer its content illegally.

House of Reps set to probe JAMB cut-off marks reduction

In an effort to investigate the reasons for the reduction of JAMB cut-off marks for candidates admission into tertiary institutions, the House of Representatives has given directive to its Committee on Tertiary Education and Services to look into the matter.

This directive came at the plenary held on Tuesday, according to Premium Times report, after a motion by Hassan Saleh representing APC from Benue, said “Need to Investigate the Reduction in the Cut-off Marks for Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria’’ while expressing concern that the reduction would lower the quality and standard of education in tertiary institutions.

Kogi State Speaker accused of N200 million fraud

Less than two months after emerging Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Matthew, is currently embroiled in a N200 million scandal.

The N200 million misappropriation accusation was levelled against him by a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Youth Leader in the state, Austin Okai, last week in a publication on his social media accounts.
