FIFA fines Nigeria N11 million over pitch invasion

-FIFA slams N11 million fine on Nigeria over pitch invasion.

The world soccer governing body FIFA, has handed Nigeria a 30,000 Swiss Francs (N11,049,557) over its fans’ breach of security during a World Cup qualifying match.

The game took place on September 1 at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom where Nigeria defeated Cameroon 4-0.

Nigeria violated articles 65 and 67 of the FBC FIFA stadium and security regulations according to the information released on the FIFA website.

Nigeria was charged for “improper conduct amongst spectators (pitch invasions by supporters and invasions of restricted areas by supporters other than the pitch)”.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have begun training with up to 17 players already in camp ahead of their decisive world cup qualifying match against the Chipolopolos of Zambia in Uyo on Saturday.

A win on Saturday will guarantee Nigeria a place at the Russia 2018 world cup tournament as the Super Eagles currently sit top of their group with two games left to play.
