ASUU strike update: University of Ibadan calls off strike today
The University of Ibadan Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday directed its members to resume full academic activities today.
The directive was given at a congress of the union in institution, presided over by the Chairman, Deji Omole.
Mr. Omole said the development would formally be communicated to the Vice Chancellor, Idowu Olayinka.

Court grants injunction proscribing IPOB
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted the Federal Government a temporary injunction proscribing the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Abdul Kafarati, granted the injunction.

475 pump-action riffles in Apapa confiscated by Customs
A container load of pump-action riffle was confiscated by the Tin Can Island Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) on Tuesday, September 19.
The shipment containing the cache of arms was reportedly imported from Turkey.
A fortnight ago, the command intercepted a 20-foot container laden with 1,100 pump action rifles.

Buhari grants commencement of IPOB proscription
President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized the commencement of process to proscribe the separatist group, the Indigeneous People of Biafra, IPOB.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Army had last week declared IPOB a terrorist group after which governors of the five south-east states announced the proscription of the activities of the group in the region. But the action was criticized by some Nigerians, including Senate President Bukola Saraki who opined that neither the military nor the governors has the authority to ban the group.

Operation Python Dance : Ebonyi Boycotts Military Medical Aid
Residents of Abakaliki, in Ebonyi State have rejected the free medical treatment organised by the Nigerian Army in its communities.
Naija News learnt that the people decided to boycott the aid because of the invasion of Umuahia and other communities in Abia State by soldiers who reportedly left some IPOB members dead and others severely injured.
