Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Bisola addresses Girls Education at UN Assembly

Bisola Aiyeola, a former Big Brother Naija reality TV show 2017 and first runner-up is in New York attending the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, as a ONE ambassador.

One Campaign initiative aims to increase the access to and quality of education for girls in Nigeria, with an emphasis on girls in Northern Nigeria.

ONE’s #GirlsCount campaign focuses on the importance of girls’ education, recognising that globally, 130 million girls are out of school, with 51 million of them in Africa. It also said that at least, 10.5 million of such girls resided in Nigeria alone.

Yesterday, Bisola addressed the #Goalkeepers17 on issues affecting girls’ education in Nigeria.

“If I didn’t have an education I likely wouldn’t have had the opportunity to be an ambassador for ONE or be at #UNGA

“Raising issues on girl child education online is important. You never know who’s watching and going to take action”

“We are using social media to urge governments to put policies in place that will improve Nigerians’ lives”
