Nnamdi Kanu’s whereabouts unknown as soldiers storm his residence

Soldiers, yesterday, reportedly stormed the Afara Ukwu, Umuahia country home of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, allegedly killing 22 of his members and arrested 18 others. Even the whereabouts of Kanu is said to be unknown.

Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel, said soldiers numbering over 150 and some mobile policemen stormed their residence at about 5:30pm, condoned off their father’s palace and shot sporadically for over one hour. After breaking into the compound, the troops again opened fire on whoever was on sight, he claimed.

2019 Presidency : APC summons Aisha Alhassan

The minister of women affairs, Aisha Alhassan on Thursday appeared before the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Minister met the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun with the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

Biafra: Court remands 30 IPOB members in prison

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, remanded 30 suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in prison custody for allegedly involving in violent acts that breached the peace in the Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.

The suspected IPOB members, according to Punch, were arrested on Tuesday by the operatives of the Rivers State Police Command

Biafra: We are not pulling out of Abia State – Nigerian Army

A news conference on Thursday, addressed by Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, suggested the army had agreed to pull its troops out of Aba and Umuahia – the two most unstable areas of the state.

The Governor also said he was working to ensure the total withdrawal of troops from the state.

But in a statement issued on Thursday night by army spokesperson, Sani Usman, the army said it would carry out its Operation Python Dance II to a “logical completion” in the state.
