According to Punch, a bus passenger, Chukwu, told said that he and his co-travellers had spent several hours on the same spot with no relief in sight.

He said, “We left Onitsha, Anambra State, at about 10pm on Monday, en route to Abuja. We got to this spot in the early hours of Tuesday, precisely 6am, to find out that the road had collapsed. You can see how deadly the spot is; we have been waiting for our turn to drive pass it; the spot can hardly take a vehicle.”

It was learnt that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, had ordered a repair of the bad portion of the road.

Ortom reportedly asked the CGGC Construction Company to immediately carry out rehabilitation of the failed portion to make the road motorable again.
