Former Gulder Ultimate Search winner, Hector Jobarteh allegedly killed by unknown gunmen

There are unconfirmed reports that the Winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) competition in 2006, Hector Oluwaseun Jobarteh, is dead.

Hector Jobarteh was reportedly shot dead in Lagos.

The GUS season 3 winner and father of one, was reportedly trailed to his house in Lagos, and shot dead by two unknown gunmen.

Why Boko Haram is yet to be defeated – Osinbajo

Nigeria’s Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, has attributed the inability of Nigeria’s military to totally wipe out the Boko Haram terrorists to the huge size of the North-East geopolitical zone.

He said that despite the valiance of the military, and huge resources been committed to the fight against Boko Haram by the government, the country might still be witnessing pockets of attacks being carried out by members of the Boko Haram sect because of the vast area involved.

ASUU : we are yet to receive FG’s invitation for negotiations – Ogunyemi

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities said it had yet to get any invitation for negotiations with the Federal Government on its demands but that they were ready to re-open negotiations.

ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, made this known on Sunday and further revealed their readiness to resolve the lingering strike which has grounded academic activities across the nations, universities.

“We have not received any invitation from the government, but we are ready for talks anytime they call us for negotiations,” he said on the telephone.

President Buhari is not travelling to the US – Presidency

The Presidency has denied an earlier claim by SaharaReporters that President Muhammadu Buhari was leaving Nigeria for the US on Monday, September 4, 2017.

According to Sahara Reporters, The trip from Nigeria to the US is reportedly at the invitation of President Donald Trump. A Nigerian presidency source says that Mr Trump extended the invitation last February, shortly after his inauguration.

Arrested soldier reveals how he spent over N3m Evans the kidnapper gave him

A 28-year-old Aduba Victor Nonso, a dismissed soldier, has narrated his role in the kidnapping gang of Evans who is currently on trial.

The former soldier from Onitsha North local government area of Anambra state, said he received over N3million for his role in the gang of Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike better known as Evans.

He revealed that the money was given to him for participating in several crimes. According to Nonso, he joined the Nigeria Army on August 15, 2009 and was posted to Abati Barracks.
