Cameroon vs Nigeria: Eagles promised $20,000 per goal

A statement from the Nigeria Football Federation, has revealed businessman, Aka Udofia, has offered the Super Eagles $20,000 for each goal they score against Cameroon in the second leg of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game in Yaounde.

The cash rain promise was made by the businessman when he briefly greeted players and officials inside the chartered ARIK Bombadier CRJ 1000 aircraft just before take-off at the Ibom International Airport, Uyo on Sunday afternoon.

He said “I am a good friend of the NFF President, Mr Amaju Pinnick, and I am happy that I am here in time to see you guys before take-off for Yaounde.

“I watched the game against the Cameroonians here in Uyo on Friday and I am sure you have the ability to conquer them again in their own territory.”

“I promise to reward you with $20,000 for every goal scored in Yaounde.”

Aka Udofia is the  Chief Executive Officer of Desicorn Company, and his promise elicited applause from the players and officials.

Nigeria, will play Cameroon on Monday with the game kicking off by 6:00pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria sit pretty comfortable top of the group, five points clear of second-placed Zambia and seven ahead of third-placed Cameroon, and will be looking to secure a place in Russia with a win against the Indomitable Lions in the game today.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Nigerian delegation to Monday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match landed in Yaounde on Sunday afternoon.
