President Buhari is not travelling to the US – Presidency

The Presidency has denied an earlier claim by SaharaReporters that President Muhammadu Buhari was leaving Nigeria for the US on Monday, September 4, 2017.

According to Sahara Reporters, The trip from Nigeria to the US is reportedly at the invitation of President Donald Trump. A Nigerian presidency source says that Mr Trump extended the invitation last February, shortly after his inauguration.

Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie took to twitter on Sunday afternoon to debunk the report.

According to her, President Buhari always informs Nigerians of his trips.

Meanwhile, there is a probability that I believe the President was billed to travel and the report was deliberately leaked to check the reactions of Nigeria.
