The Ogun State police command said on Monday that 13 suspects had been arrested for the assassination of the Olowo of Owo-Yewa, Ogun State, Oba Oyeniran Fasiku.
Confirming the incident, the state CP afterwards paraded the 43 suspects.
Punch had earlier reported the assassination of Fasik on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, while he was travelling back to his palace after a meeting of the Yewa Traditional Council held at Ilaro.
Iliyasu said the suspects would be arraigned before court after the completion of investigation.
He said, “The command has commenced discrete investigation into the matter and has so far arrested 13 suspects in connection with the murder.
“They will be charged to court as soon as we conclude our investigation.
“I want to make it clear that Ogun State is not a place where any criminal act will be committed and be swept under the carpet.
“I want to assure you that, we are on top of the matter and we will get to its root.”
