Afrobasket 2017: Nigeria’s D’Tigress emerge champions

Nigeria’s senior female basket ball team emerged overall champions at the just concluded women Afrobasket championship beating Senegal 65-48.

With the Sunday outcome, Nigeria has also picked up one of the two available tickets to represent Africa in the world championships in Spain.

The Nigerian ladies will now head to the next year’s world championship as African champions and will be looking to replicate the form that saw them romp to the crown without loosing a single game.

The championship holds biennially and with this most recent win, the D’Tigresses have now emerged champions three times, having also been champions in 2003 and 2005.
