Sequel to complaints by customers on the disruption of 9mobile service, the management of 9mobile has spoken on interruption in services to its subscribers.

It was gathered that the service has been shut for about a week in Lagos, and also 9Mobile customers in Cross River State were experiencing a total network failure.

On Wednesday, 9mobile announced a network outage in one of its data centres as the reason for the service disruption.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim Dikko, one of its vice presidents, 9mobile said “subscribers may experience some disruption with voice, SMS and data services due to this technical issue,”

He said the company’s “technical teams were currently working assiduously to resolve the issue within the shortest possible time.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our subscribers and we thank them for their patience and understanding,” he said.

Recall that 9mobile, formerly Etisalat Nigeria, rebranded after the Etisalat global firm quit due to a financial crisis few weeks ago.

Recently, Nigerian banks that facilitated a $1.2 billion loan made to the company agreed to an extension pending when the mobile operator finds new investors.
