Storey building collapses in Kwara (Photos)

A four storey building, located on the popular Zulu Gambari Road in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital has collapsed.

According to reports, up to 100 people escaped death on Friday following the collapse of a part of the four-storey building.

The building is said to be intended as a hotel upon completion.

It was reported that while some workers were working on the building, some people were holding fellowship in a container near the construction site.

Part of the building, which was under construction, caved in while some of the debris also fell on two containers near the construction site.

It was further learnt that those who were holding fellowship managed to run out of the container, while the workers in the building either escaped or were rescued with no life lost.

The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi; and the state PRO, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Mr. Henry Belisinma, confirmed the collapse of the building.
