Ozubulu Massacre: We will find an alternative place to worship -Nnewi Diocese

Director of Communications of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, Rev Father Hyginus Aghaulo, has apparently disclosed that there will be no service at the scene of the Anambra church killing, St Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa-Ozubulu in Anambra State.

This he revealed to vanguard saying the diocese would not disrupt on-going investigations in the church by forcing the security operatives out of the vicinity on the grounds of celebrating masses.

The priest added that the church will look for a alternative, pending when the police deems it fir to vacate the premises.

Recall that Naija News reported the shooting spree orchestrated by a gunman in St. Philips Catholic Church on Sunday, August 6, resulting in the death of 13 members and some other members, critically injured.

Rev Aghaulo said: “There are many aspects to the Ozubulu incident and because it is a criminal offence, we are not going to pressurize the police to leave the church without completing their work.

“If the police remove the security gadgets mounted round the church, we will use it on Sunday; otherwise we will find an alternative place. There is no way we can muscle the police out of the church.”

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Ozubulu has come out with the problem that led to the Ozubulu massacre.
