Kidnapper of mother and baby arrested in Bauchi

Bauchi State police has arraigned a suspected kidnapper, Buba Sale, for allegedly kidnapping a woman, Binta Mohammed, and her four-month-old baby in Liman Katagun area of the state.

The suspect was among other three suspects paraded on Thursday by DSP Dalti Abubakar.

Though the suspect demanded a ransom of N500, 000, the baby and mother were rescued by the Anti-kidnapping unit after much investigation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dalti Abubakar, speaking to journalists on Thursday said the suspects would be charged to court after ongoing investigations.

He said, “The suspect was arrested by anti-kidnapping unit due to investigations. He kidnapped the victim with her four-month-old baby on July 6 at about 1.30am and demanded a ransom of N500,000.

“The hostage was rescued alive and rushed to the hospital where she was admitted for treatment.

“The case is under investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court.”
