Kwara officials unsure of exact amount Saraki returned as pension refund

-Kwara government officials unsure of total amount refunded by Dr.Bukola Saraki as pension refund.

The Kwara State government has on Wednesday, August 9, claimed Senate President and former Kwara State Governor, Dr.Bukola Saraki has refunded all pension fund paid into his account but investigations by Punch correspondent has revealed the exact amount returned is not clear.

The Kwara State Commissioner of Finance, Mr. Demola Banu; and the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorode, have both claimed they are unaware of the exact amount refunded by the state’s ex-governor and incumbent Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Banu however asked the punch correspondent to call him back on Friday to know if he has been able to ascertain how much Saraki refunded.

Banu said, “I do not have the figures offhand. Call me by Friday for the figure, if I have it by then.

Akorede said, “I do not have information of the amount the Senate President has refunded.”

Recall the Senate President had earlier revealed he has stopped the collection of any form of pension from the Kwara State government with many calling on him to make a refund of all money and property paid to him by the Kwara State government as pension since he left office in 2011.
