Liverpool deny agreeing £109m Coutinho deal with Barcelona

-Liverpool insists Coutinho is not for sale.

-Barcelona struggle to bring in quality players in the current transfer window.

Liverpool have rubbished rumours suggesting they have agreed a £109 million deal with Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

They also denied claims the La Liga giants have improved on their £72m bid for the playmaker which was tabled and rejected by the Anfield outfit 20 days ago while insisting the Brazil international is not for sale this summer.

Reports in Spain and Brazil, suggesting a transfer for the 25-year-old is entering its final stages have been entirely refuted by the Anfield side, who refused to entertain the only formal bid received for their highest-paid player without hesitation.

Talk of Barca officials Raul Sanllehi, Oscar Grau and Javier Bordas flying into Merseyside for a meeting to wrap up negotiations with Liverpool on Tuesday has been rubbished, as Liverpool claim no forum was held or even proposed.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has also informed Coutinho their is no chance of him been sold in the current transfer window.

Barca, however, are in need of replacement for Neymar whom they lost to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee and are unlikely to accept defeat easily in their resolve to bring in reinforcements before the transfer window slams shut but have declared they won’t be pressurized into making hasty decisions. 

The La Liga giants are also said to be on the trails of Borussia Dortmond’s  Ousmane Dembele.
