#ResumeOrResign: One injured in Buhari protest as police fire tear gas

-One injured in protests over President Buhari’s continued absence from the country.

-Injury sustained due to to tear gas canister fired by security operatives.

The on-going protest rocking the nation’s capital in which the protesters are demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari should either resume back to work or resign from his post, turned messy on Tuesday as security operatives attempted to disperse the crowd.

One protester was reported injured as security operatives fired tear gas canisters at the protesters while many defied the security operatives.

The injured protester was said to have been rushed to a clinic at the Federal Secretariat complex, a few kilometres from the scene of the incident.

The coalition members were having their sit-out at the Millennium park opposite the Unity Fountain, Maitama, Abuja, when the armed policemen fired tear gas canisters to disperse them.

The participants, however, withstood the assault from the security operatives and continued with their meeting for about an hour.

Nigeria’s president has been away from the country for 92 days on medical vacation in London, the United Kingdom.

In a related development, Buhari’s special assistant on social media, Lauretta Onochie has tagged those demanding to know details of Mr. President’s ailment as disrespectful.

She stated the President reserves the right to either disclose details of his ailment or continue to keep it personal.
