Buhari Has Never Called Me To Close Any TV, Radio Station - Lai Mohmmed

-President Muhammadu Buhari has been away on medical vacation since May, 2017.

-Lai Mohammed claims the country is in good hands despite the President’s absence.

It has been 91 days since President Muhammadu Buhari left the shores of Nigeria for London, United Kingdom on medical vacation.

Many high powered delegations have visited Mr. President at the Abuja house in London although none has been able to give a precise time when the President is expected back in the country.

However, according to the Daily Post, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has claimed that Nigerians are missing President Muhammadu Buhari.

The minister also noted that, though his absence was greatly missed, the country was running smoothly and with no vacuum in governance under the able leadership of the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

Speaking with newsmen recently, the minister said it is normal for every human being to be ill at one point or the other.

He said, “There is no doubt that we miss the president but I think government has been functioning very well. There can’t be a substitute for the president no doubt but I don’t think it has gotten to any stage whereby we find the kind of acrimony, agitations that is coming up.

“It is normal for anybody to be ill. When somebody is ill, there are certain things he cannot do but we thank God that Mr. President is improving and he will come back very soon. The important thing is that government has been working. We have not missed one single Federal Executive Council meeting since he left.

“Also, we have not missed one single National Economic Council meeting. Whatever needs to be done is being done because there are serious consultations between the Acting president and Mr. President and as such, I don’t see the hoopla about Mr. President being away.”
