Two Boko Haram suspects have been killed in an ambush by Nigerian Army officers.

The Army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman in a statement on Sunday disclosed that the operation was carried out by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Forward Operation Base Mainok.

He said that the insurgents were ferrying logistics items to their colleagues when they were caught in the ambush.

He said that two weapons, motorcycles, Jerry cans and grounded guinea corn were recovered from them during the operation.

“Similarly, troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, on routine clearing of bushes to aid unhindered movement of troops discovered multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The IEDs were connected together laid on the shoulder of the road at a suspected terrorist ambush site in Banki Junction near Bama.

The troops successfully disconnected and recovered them,” Usman.
