1. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, says the war against Boko Haram terrorists is not yet over.

The army chief said this on Wednesday while addressing officers and men of the Nigeria Army in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

He urged troops fighting Boko Haram terrorists in North-East Nigeria to remain steadfast and be more proactive.

2. Seven people were killed on Tueday night by Boko Haram insurgents in Mildo community, the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa.

Naija News learnt that the assailants sneaked into the town on Tuesday night through Chakawa village, killing and burning houses.

3. Operatives of the Special Mobile Force Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command have arrested four suspected kidnappers terrorising motorists along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.

According to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Agyole Abeh, one other kidnapper was killed by the security operatives during a shootout.

4. 32 senior officers of the Nigerian Prisons Service, NPS, have been redeployed by  the service Controller-General, Ahmed Ja’afaru, as part of its efforts to ensure efficient service delivery.

Francis Enobore‎, the NPS spokesperson, said this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

5. A Lagos businessman, Alaka Abayomi, arrested by the police for alleged involvement in the latest attack by Badoo, the deadly cult group in Ikorodu, has denied owning up to the crime.

The 51-year-old said in a statement Wednesday through his lawyer that he neither spoke nor wrote a statement to the police in connection with the cult group.

6. A power-drunk soldier, Abiola Odedeji, reportedly killed anokadarider (commercial motorcyclist), a resident of Agbado, Ogun State.

Odedeji allegedly stabbed the victim, Niyi James, aka Emi-Ero, in different parts of the body because the deceased shunned him.

7. The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Imam, has resigned.

He reportedly resigned on Tuesday night to avoid being impeached during Wednesday’s plenary session.

8. The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, asked Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, to withdraw all charge against him and his co-defendants, saying they have not committed any offence that is known to law.

9. Naija News just learnt Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Leicester City. Reports from England indicate that the player has completed a £25 million move from City to the Foxes after passing a medical.

10. The senate on Wednesday threatened to arrest the chief executive officers (CEOs) of 16 companies, including Glo, for failing to honour its invitation over the N30 trillion revenue probe.

Hope Uzodinma, chairman of the senate joint committee on customs, excise and tariff and marine transport, gave the warning at a meeting with some of the firms in Abuja on Wednesday.
