Boko Haram: UNIMAID Buries Staff Killed in Insurgent’s Attack

The funeral prayer of Idris Abubakar Njodi, (one of the Gubio attack victims), has taken place today, Thursday at the university of Maiduguri Central Mosque.

The deceased was kidnapped along with other staff of the University including; Mr. Daniel Birma, Dr. Militus J.V, Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim, Dr. Solomon N.Y, Alhaji Kolo, and Mr. Manaja N. UBA.

According to Daily Post’s report, relations have identified the bodies of Dr. Militus Joseph V. and Mr. Manaja N. Uba among the over 30 corpses brought to the Mortuary at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).

Among the corpses delivered in two army ambulances and four Pickup Vans, at the Maimalari Barracks and UMTH, are: 18 soldiers, 15 members of the Civilian JTF, 5 University of Maiduguri staff, 4 NNPC drivers as well as 6 other whom with injuries tried escaping but died in the process. The bodies of the six others were discovered  in Yobe alongside 2 other injured Civilian JTF who are currently on admission at the UMTH.

Also, Air Force fighter jet killed many Boko Haram members, while withdrawing back to their base with some victims suspected to be among them, Daily Post reported.

It was also learnt that the victims were travelling in 8 Hilux vehicles when the insurgents attacked them.

Naija News recalls that the Chief of Army staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai has ordered the Maiduguri theatre command to apprehend Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram in 40 days.
