Boko Haram: Police Arrests Boko Haram Suspect in Abuja
A prime Boko Haram suspect, Seth Yakubu, has been apprehended by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police, at Gwako Village in Abuja.
20-year-old suspect, from Obi in Nasarawa state, was arrested at about 11.30 am on Sunday sequel to police information on his suspicious behaviour in the village.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, revealed that the suspect, while pleading guilty of being a member of Boko Haram said he absconded to the village from Sambisa Forest after their hideout was destroyed by the Nigeria Airforce through a major air-strike about a week ago.

Yakubu, who was the second in command in his beat in the terrorist sect, continued saying he departed Maiduguri on Friday 21st July 2017 and reached Gwako village on Saturday 22nd July 2017 at about 10pm to hide his identity and find refuge.
He added that he was introduced to the Boko Haram sect by a young man who accosted him with a guarantee of an automatic employment into the Nigerian Army only to end up a member of the terrorist group.
He disclosed that he was given a form to fill and believing the job was authentic, he filled the form only to be taken to an unknown depot where he received training along with some other persons.

The suspect also admitted, he was actively involved in a number of deadly attacks launched by the group against innocent individuals.
Consequently, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Musa Kimo , has directed residents of the FCT and environs to be vigilant and always report any strange and suspicious person or persons, or activity to the police.
“The Command wishes to also advise community leaders to guard against habouring strangers, especially those whose mission to the community is not clear.
The CP added that “Upon the identification of any strange face in a community, the nearest police formation can be alerted or the FCT police Command emergency helplines-lines and they are 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883”.
