NYSC Releases Call-Up Letters for 2017 Batch A Stream II

Management of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has released call-up letters for 2017 Batch A stream II.

The scheme has directed prospective corps members to print out call-up letter to ascertain their state of deployment.

In a statement on their twitter page, the NYSC disclosed on Wednesday that “All things being equal, you should be able to view your state of posting by 6PM today”.

Senate to create another University from ABU

The Senate appears set to create another University from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria with a bill to upgrade the institution’s college of Agriculture, to a University.

A public hearing on the bill was organised on Thursday by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, chaired by Senator Barau Jibrin.

Speaking during the public hearing, the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki said the institution when established would be known as Federal University of Agriculture, Kabba, Kogi State.

Just In: Badoo Gang kills Lovers at Ojodu Berger

Suspected members of the Badoo cult early Friday morning struck at Ojodu Berger and killed two lovers in their apartment in Lagos State.

Punch reports that the incident happened at a storey building located on Hassan Abiodun Street, off Ojodu Berger, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state. he heads of the victims were smashed.

It was gathered that many of the residents wailed and could not be consoled as policemen from Ojodu Abiodun Division took away the remains of the deceased wrapped in many wrappers for onward transfer to the General Hospital Sagamu.

Court Adjourns Evans’ Case Against Inspector General of Police

The fundamental rights suit filed against Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris filed by kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, better known as Evans has been adjourned till July 27.

The case was adjourned on Thursday by Justice Chuka Obiozor due to the failure of Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, to pay the punitive sum of N20,000, which the court ordered on July 13.

The defense lawyer for the police, Effiong Asuquo, explained to the judge that Mr. Ogungbeje gave him a post-dated check for N20,000, which he rejected on the grounds that it violated the court’s order.

New Suit Against FEC to Declare President Buhari Unfit to Rule

A new suit has been filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja requesting an order mandating the Federal Executive Council to declare ailing President Muhammadu Buhari as unfit for the presidency and another compelling the Senate to set up a medical panel to investigate the President’s fitness.

The law suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/671/2017, was filed on Thursday by the incorporated trustees of a civil society group, Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International.

Respondents to the suit are the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, the Federal Executive Council the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), and the National Assembly.
