200 Level Student Murders Tricycle Driver

A 200-level Computer Science student in Abia, Chinonso Ibekwe, has been arrested by the Umuahia Central Police command, for allegedly strangling 67 year-old Peter Eseone, tricycle operator.

25 year-old Ibekwe was said to have boarded the Eseone’s tricycle, claiming to be going to his mother’s farm at Amuzukwu a community in Umuahia, the Abia capital city.

According to Punch,upon arrival at the farm, the suspect assaulted  his victim, strangling him the deceased with a rope and disposing his corpse in a ditch. Ibekwe was said to have escaped with his victim’s tricycle.

Naija News gathered that a man (name withheld), excreting in the bush, observed the incident after which he reported it to the the community members.

Confirming the incident to  Southern City News, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, disclosede that the suspect was apprehended following the report of  late Peter Eseonu from Ekenaobizi Umuopara, Umuahia.

The commisioner of Police added that police officials discovered the deceased body after thorough questioning of the suspect, who disclosed the location of the decomposing corpse.

Oyebade stated that the corpse of Eseonu has been taken to an unnamed morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the Ibekwe has been charged to court and placed in the police custody.
