Jigawa Government Declares Friday July 7 Holiday To Pray For Buhari

Friday, July 7  has been declared as a public holiday  by Jigawa state Government. The public holiday is meant for civil servants offer special prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari’s quick recovery.

Annoucement of the holiday was made in Dutse on Thursday by Isma’il Ibrahim, the public relations officer, Office of the state’s Head of Civil Service.

EFCC Set To Arraign Former OAU Vice Chancellor For Alleged Misappropriation Of N1.4 billion

A former Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Anthony Elujoba, is expected to be arraigned today (Friday) by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over allegations of misappropriating N1.4 billion while in office.

Mr Elujoba was interrogated by operatives of EFCC at its Ibadan zonal branch last year for allegedly diverting the sum meant for projects without approval of the school’s governing council or federal ministry of education.

He was said to have used the money to pay illegal allowances to staff including himself.

Saminu Turaki To Spend 77 Days Minimum in Detention

A former governor of Jigawa State, Saminu Turaki, who was arrested on Tuesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, may stay in the custody of the anti-graft agency until at least September 19.

Naija News gathered that Mr. Turaki was arrested at at the launch of a book on the late Zakariya Maimalari at the International Conference Centre, Abuja by operatives of the agency.
