Magu: Senators declare war against Osinbajo

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday drew a constitutional battle line against Nigeria’s Acting President Yemi Osinbajo over Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Senators unilaterally agreed yesterday to suspend all confirmation requests from the executive until Acting President Yemi Osinbajo respects the decisions of the legislature.

House Of Rep Summons Goodluck Jonathan Over Malabu Oil Deal

The house of representatives ad hoc committee probing the award of oil prospecting licence (OPL) 245 to Malabu Oil and Gas has asked ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to testify in the ongoing investigations.

The committee said it is important that evidence should be taken from Goodluck Jonathan in order to ensure “thoroughness, natural justice and fair play”.

The committee disclosed in a statement that it had conducted an extensive investigation into the OPL 245 saga and that it was drawing to a close.

No One Can Remove Magu – Osinbajo

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo says no one can remove acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.

He made the statement in Kaduna on Thursday while commissioning a zonal office of the EFCC.

Osinbajo who was represented by Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai described Magu as a “nightmare for corrupt people”.
