Senate: Aregbesola’s candidate battles Adeleke’s brother

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State on Monday evening said that the party has cleared Senator Mudasiru Hussain who was disqualified by the Screening Committee of the party led by the Speaker of Zamfara House of Assembly, Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Director of media and Strategy of the party, Mr Kunle Oyatomi in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

But the Chairman of the Screening Committee from the national secretariat of the party, Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji in a telephone conversation with Daily Trust correspondent said he was not aware of the decision of the NWC as claimed by Osun APC.

According to Osun APC as contained in the statement by its spokesperson, Hussain was cleared at meeting of the NWC in Abuja which reviewed the decision of the Appeal Panel which had earlier dismissed the appeal filed by Senator Hussain on Sunday.

His words: “By the regulation of the party, the decision of the NWC of the party is final. Therefore, delegates for the APC West Senatorial district primaries are to proceed to the designated centre for the exercise on Tuesday.”
