Acting President Osinbajo 2017 budget for ‘consideration’
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has officially received the 2017 appropriation bill for assent.
NaijaNews.com learnt that Senator Ita Enang, special adviser to the president on national assembly matters (senate) delivered the budget to Osinbajo
Enang had earlier said the budget will be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
Laolu Akande, special adviser on media and publicity to the acting president, said the budget is undergoing prompt and diligent consideration.
“Appropriations bill now officially received in the acting president’s office and undergoing very prompt and diligent consideration,” Akande said.
On Wednesday, Enang suggested that the budget will not be signed by the acting president but by the president himself.
“It will be ready tomorrow (Thursday) all things being equal, and it will be transmitted to the president, all things being equal tomorrow. The budget will be transmitted to Mr president and the President will assent to the budget,” Enang had said.
Later on Wednesday, Akande gave some insight to the budget controversy, saying the acting president will sign the budget when the time comes.
“Just so we are clear: when the time comes, everything is set, & he is satisfied, Ag. President Yemi Osinbajo will assent to the 2017 Budget,” Akande had said.
