The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the fight broke out at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday and lasted until about 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

“At about 10 p.m., we received distress call that some youths are on rampage at Iyana-Ipaja and we sent the police response team there.

“The fight raged and continued till 2 a.m. when normalcy was restored.

“Eight suspects were arrested and one person was killed in the course of the fight.

“Investigation, however, revealed that fighting ensued over a girl, who resides at Abule-Oki area of Iyana-Ipaja.
