Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu visits his village, welcome by parents

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu is presently in his country home in Isiama Afara, Umuahia, Abia State. Kanu, who arrived Umuahia on Friday evening was received by a mammoth crowd.

He was later received by his parents Eze Israel Kanu in his family house.

This is the first time the pro-Biafra agitator would be touching Abia, days after he was freed by Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court.

Kanu had yesterday visited the Biafra cenotaph located at Ngwo, Enugu State where he prayed for the fallen heroes.

Recall that visited Enugu on Thursday, Naija News reported that Kanu stopped over in Enugu on his way to his family house in Umuahia, Abia State.

It is the pro-Biafran activist’s first visit to the South-East since his release from detention since 2015. It was gathered that, upon his arrival in Enugu, Kanu headed for the Biafran cenotaph located at the Ngwo area of Enugu.

A source, who was aware of the development, said Kanu prayed at the cenotaph, which was erected in honour of Biafran soldiers who lost their lives during the Nigerian Civil War.
