It is the pro-Biafran activist’s first visit to the South-East since his arrest and detention in 2015.

It was gathered that, upon his arrival in Enugu, Kanu headed for the Biafran cenotaph located at the Ngwo area of Enugu.

A source, who was aware of the development, said Kanu prayed at the cenotaph, which was erected in honour of Biafran soldiers who lost their lives during the Nigerian Civil War.

The source said, “Nnamdi Kanu arrived Enugu today and headed straight for the cenotaph at Ngwo, Enugu, to pray before proceeding to his home to see his parents and his people.

“He has paid his homage to the memory of Biafran fallen heroes.”

IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, also confirmed the development.
