Update : 2 Boko Haram Suicide Bombers Attack Borno

Naija News reported earlier that at least two people were killed in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, in early morning explosions by Boko Haram bombers.

An update confirms that no fewer than five people have been killed after suicide bombers detonated explosives at three different locations in Muna area of Borno State, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has said.

The affected areas were Muna Usmanti, Muna Garage and Muna Ethopia, the official added.

The attack which occurred around 4:11 a.m on Wednesday injured another 11 people.

Among the dead were four suicide bombers and a member of security volunteer group known as Civilian JTF.

NEMA spokesman in the region, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, confirmed that the agency responded promptly after receiving a distress call.

“We have since taken the injured persons to hospital for proper medical attention while the dead bodies have been deposited in the mortuary,” he said.
