Nigeria Became Hell On Earth Under Buhari - Obasanjo

The President of the FCT Baptist Conference of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) Dr Israel Akanji has said that President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and a former President Olusegun Obasanjo among other dignitaries are expected at the 104th Annual session of the convention in Abuja.

He disclosed this in Abuja on Friday, saying the event themed: “Moving Forward: Overcoming the challenges of life through Jesus Christ,” would hold between April 22 and April 27 at the National Stadium, Abuja.

Akanji who is also the Chairman of the North Central zone of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) said CAN president, Dr Samson Ayokunle with other Christian leaders in the country, United Kingdom, United States, Mali, Liberia and Togo among others would also be in attendance.

“As a national corporate body, the Nigerian Baptist Convention has the task of sharing the truth of salvation to all and sundry through our Churches, Associations, Conferences and Ministries.

“The Convention will continue until Thursday, April 27 when activities will be brought to a close also at the National Stadium, Abuja where there will be a Glorious Morning Encounter and Inspection of Royal Ambassadors and Girls Auxiliary squads. Various other activities have also been billed to hold at other centres including Baptist churches around the Abuja Conference and the National Christian Centre,” he said.

He said the theme was carefully chosen at this point of the nation’s life when the country is witnessing various forms of challenges including economic recession, hunger, poverty, high unemployment and mounting level of corruption.
