Habibat Lawan replace Babachir Lawal as acting SGF in Nigeria

Following the suspension of Babachir Lawal as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Office of the SGF, Dr. Habibat Lawan, has taken over as the Acting Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Mr. Lawal resumed as usual at his office Wednesday morning, before moving into the Presidential Villa, where he was served his suspension notice in a meeting with Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Although he claimed he was not aware of the decision to suspend him, it has been reliably gathered that Lawan has taken over as the acting SGF.

“Permanent secretary to SGF’s office Dr. Habibat Lawan is the new Acting SGF and Amb. Arab Yadam the new Acting DG National Intelligence Agency NIA,” a report by Daily Post reads.
